Community Guidelines

These Community Guidelines apply to all users of the Neighbr platform operated by Commonfield Systems Inc. They exist to ensure that Neighbr remains a safe, trustworthy, and constructive civic space for residents, businesses, institutions, and community organizations.

Our purpose

Neighbr is built to connect communities, support civic participation, and strengthen the relationship between residents and the institutions that serve them. Everything in these Guidelines supports that purpose.

Be honest

Post accurate information. Do not fabricate issues, events, polls, or civic alerts. Do not misrepresent your identity, your organization, or your relationship to a place or institution. Verified presence matters on this platform — do not claim to represent an institution, business, BIA, or public office you do not represent.

Be respectful

Engage with others as you would in a community meeting. Disagree with ideas without attacking people. Do not post content that is harassing, threatening, discriminatory, or designed to intimidate. Civic disagreement is welcome; abuse is not.

Be constructive

Neighbr is a civic platform, not a general social network. Content should relate to your community, your corridor, your neighbourhood, or the institutions that serve it. Off-topic promotional content, spam, and unrelated advertising are not permitted.

Protect privacy

Do not post personal information about other individuals without their consent. Do not post content that violates the privacy of residents, business owners, or public officials in their personal capacity.

Report accurately

When reporting issues, alerts, or civic concerns, report what you know to be true. Exaggerated or false reports undermine the trust that makes the platform valuable to everyone. If you are unsure, say so.

Respect institutions

Neighbr supports transparent and accountable relationships between residents and institutions. Criticism of institutions on matters of public interest is acceptable and important. Content designed solely to harass institutional staff or to make false claims about a public body is not.

Consequences

Violations of these Guidelines may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent account termination depending on severity. Serious violations — including impersonation of public institutions, deliberate misinformation about public safety matters, or harassment — may be referred to appropriate authorities.
